Better Beer Drinking Experience

3 Steps for Better Cerveza

Dear Beer Drinkers,

Want a better beer drinking experience? Just follow these 3 easy steps.

The U/X Idea

  1. Get good beer.

  2. Dent beer can horizontally with thumb below mouth opening.

  3. Drink that beer.

The User Experience Problem

As long as you’re drinking good beer, there really are not many user experience problems… unless the beer is warm! Though a few problems can arise:

  • Not knowing which beer is yours while drinking with others.

  • The can may not feel incredibly ergonomical to hold / slip out of your hand easier.

  • Drinking out of a can may cause the beer to foam up by hitting the lip of the can harder while on its way to your mouth.

The U/X Solution

Put a horizontal dent in the can before you take your first sip. How does this help our frivolous beer problem, you might ask?

  • Denting the can makes it unique and thus more likely to be your can. Others may be less likely to drink beer out of the dented can thus saving you from exposure to unwanted germs! But more importantly saving that delicious beer for yourself and no one else. It’s okay to be selfish sometimes :)

  • Putting the dent in the can really makes the can easier to hold. It’s much more enjoyable and you have a better grip. Accidentally slip a bit in those boat shoes on a flagstone patio and tragically spill your beer? Now with the dent you’re more likely to hold onto that beer. Win-win-win. No compromises.

  • Not a fluid dynamics engineer over here, but the dent in the can seems to smooth the path of the beer to the mouth causing less foam and better beer taste. Try it. Do it. You won’t.

Conclusion

Maybe this is frivolous but putting a horizontal dent in a beer can with your thumb truly does make a better drinking experience. In doing this you can mark your territory, have a more secure & comfortable grip, and drink a smoother beer with less foam.

Please enjoy responsibly and let us know your thoughts! Cheers!
