The Essential Step to Enabling Your Auto Import Tool


Your auto import tool currently requires this step. Your Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheets must be setup to be automatically emailed out of QuickBooks which will allow Google Sheets to update with your current financial data.


How To Create The Reports

Start With Profit and Loss

  1. Login to QuickBooks Online

  2. Select Reports > Profit and Loss

  3. Set the report period to “This Year”

  4. Select “Months” under “Display columns by”

  5. Under '“Show non-zero or active only”, select “All Rows/All Columns”

  6. Choose your accounting method: “Cash or Accrual”

  7. Click “Run report

  8. Click “Save customization”

  9. In the Drop Down Menu, title the report as “Profit and Loss Auto” and click “Save”

  10. Go “Back to report list”

  11. Under the “Custom Reports” tab, find “Profit and Loss Auto” and under “Action” select “Edit”

  12. Turn “Set email schedule” to ON

  13. For SET RECURRENCE, set as follows for the plan you purchased:

    • All Plans: End “None”

    • Daily: Repeats “Daily” Every “1” day(s)

    • Weekly: Repeats “Weekly” Every “1” week(s) On “Sunday”

    • Monthly: Repeats “Monthly” Every “1” month(s) On Day “Last”

    • Note: if you purchased a Monthly plan and set the schedule as Daily, your Spreadsheet will still only process Monthly

  14. In the “To:” field put info@wexfordepartners.com

  15. Change the Subject to “Profit and Loss Report for <Your 3 Letter Code>”

    • Example: Profit and Loss Report for AAA

  16. Select “Attach the report as an Excel file”

  17. "Click “Save and close”

Step 13 - Select Based On Your Subscription

repeat for Balance Sheet

  • Follow the steps above except in step 2 choose “Balance Sheet”

    1. In step 4 choose “Active rows/active columns”

    2. In step 8 save as “Balance Sheet Auto”

    3. In step 10 edit the “Balance Sheet Auto” report you just created

    4. In Step 14 change the subject to “Balance Sheet Report for <Your 3 Letter Code>”

      • Example: Balance Sheet Report for AAA

    5. Attach as an excel file, save and close, and you’re all set! Good Job!
